Deworming horses is a necessary evil, as living in pastures and stalls increases the likelihood that parasites will re-enter the same horse body after leaving it and each time they will multiply.  Horses are never worm free, but are treated for a variety of internal parasites such as tapeworms, large and small strongyles, pinworms, bots, hairworms, lungworms, threadworms, and mouth and stomach worms.  It is sometimes advised to use an equine probiotic several days after a horse worming. This will replenish the natural organisms in the digestive tract that have been killed off by the horse wormer.
