• Do I really need a riding helmet?
  At Apple Saddlery we are huge advocates of the riding helmet. The human skull can be shattered by an impact of only 7km/h, while a horse can gallop up to 65km/h. Because we know that an unprotected fall from as little as 2 feet can cause permanent brain damage, you can rest assured that every single helmet we sell is ASTM approved. Check the law before you get ready to ride, as there are places in Canada where it is illegal for people under the age of 18 to ride without wearing a properly fitting ASTM approved helmet.
