Halters

Halters are to horses as collars are to dogs.  They help us catch, hold, lead and tie our horses.  It is important to get a halter that fits properly to make sure that your horse can still eat and move his jaw.  Problems from an ill fitting halter can be as mild as a couple of rubs or as serious as a horse with his foot stuck through the hole intended for his nose.  The most common halter sizes are Pony, Cob, Full and Warmblood.  Pony is pretty self explanatory and Full is for a regular sized horse.  Cob fits between Pony and Full while Warmblood is for a really big horse.  If you have a small QH or an Arabian, your horse will likely wear a cob sized halter.
