MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) was born in 1996 when, through observing the agile Masai people as they walked barefoot on uneven ground, it was discovered that natural instability can have positive effects on the human body. When walking in MBTs, the ground no longer feels flat and stable so the body has to compensate through an active and controlled rolling motion. This can aid in improving balance and posture.
