When LAFD firefighter, Jason Knight (founder of Fire Axe, Inc.) discovered the famed Collins Tool "Seagrave Axe" (carried by the Los Angeles Fire Department in the 1900s) hadn't been made since 1925 and that the original dies were long gone, he decided to make his own.  He wanted to make an even better axe, improving both its legendary effectiveness and durability.  It was heartily adopted by the LAFD as their current primary fire axe.  We are calling them "Zombie" axes, but in fact they are axes made by firefighters for firefighters.
