Stetson Hat Company was started as John B. Stetson Company in 1865 by the son of a hatter.  John Stetson had made a hat for himself from beaver fur to withstand the elements.  He took this idea and began producing quality hats for outdoor use.  The Stetson name is known world-wide for its quality,  stylish hats.
