Belgians are known to be one of the strongest draft horse breeds, and are able to pull extremely heavy loads. It has been recorded that a pair of Belgians pulled a weight of 17,000 pounds at a distance of 7 feet, 2 inches at a show in Colorado. Belgians are also record-holders in the height category as well! Big Jake, an 18-year-old Belgian Draft Horse, is currently the tallest horse in the world, standing just over 20 hands high! That's over 6.5 feet tall at the withers!
