Product description
Draft horses are considered to be "cold-blooded" horses, meaning they're calm, cool and collected. Although small by typical draft horse standards, the Black Forest horse is just that - a breed originally used for heavy forestry work. Currently, the eye-catching contrast of a (usually) dark chestnut body with a flaxen mane and tail make these horses popular for pulling carriages or sleighs, as well as recreational riding. Baden-Wurttemburg in Germany, which is home to the Black Forest, is where these horses originated. They are also one of the oldest draft breeds, dating back to the 15th century.
