A new line of horses from Breyer! They are crafted out of vinyl, hand-painted, safe, and virtually unbreakable!
As its name suggests, Icelandic Horses originate from Iceland, and even though they are pony-sized (standing 13-14 hands), the Icelandic registries refer to them as horses. Strict laws are in place to help protect the breed from diseases, in which Iceland has very few. Icelandic Horses are prohibited from being imported into the country, and if they have already been exported, they are not allowed to return. Longevity and hardiness are traits of the breed, with horses reportes as being bred, and giving birth, in their mid-20s, and some individuals have been known to live well into their 40s and 50s! Icelandic Horses are gaited horses, which means they can perform two additional gaits - the tolt and the flying pace - in addition to the standard gaits.
